Reference Population
Covering an area of more than 1,300 km2, the Cerdanya high plateau is one of the most extensive valleys in Europe, with a minimum height of around 1,000 metres. The permanent population is approximately 33,000 inhabitants, spread among the 53 municipalities of the highlands on either side of the border.
During the winter season the population can multiply four-fold.
