Challenges to be dealt with
In terms of Europe in general
Above and beyond the prerogatives of each country and the differences between healthcare services, it is necessary to cooperate to deal with the shared challenges that specifically affect the region, namely:
- The aging of the population.
- The lack of professionals.
- The problems of staff loyalty and attracting employees.
- The problems of financial management.
In terms of the project
- Harmonizing tools, speeds and general policies of the different administrations involved in the project: local, regional, autonomous-community and national administrations and the different levels of political decentralization with the aim of administrative simplification and proximity.
- Coordinating the different countries and parties involved.
- Facilitating communication between administrations.
- Ensuring that the project’s ideological strength takes precedence over political agendas (local, regional and national elections, as well as referendums on the European constitution, etc.) and that they do not directly affect its progress.
- Ensuring that the true beneficiaries of this project, i.e., the general population and healthcare professionals, embrace the project without fear of the benefits and losses it may involve.
